Bus hike decision postponed

Councillors debated for over two hours today about possible bus fare increases, before voting overwhelmingly to put off making a decision. It is expected the debate will not be resumed until other budget meetings in January.

A motion by Sam Merulla that there be no increases was defeated, with only Brian McHattie supporting it, although some other councillors indicated they might eventually support this position.
