"The Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 requires municipalities to prepare an annual accessibility plan, and to consult with the accessibility advisory committee about the preparation of the plan. .. An initial round of public consultation will commence this fall with members of the community and staff who have disabilities, persons who have children with disabilities, or who are care-givers or service providers. A survey is planned as are focus groups and individual interviews, to provide basic information about the barriers faced by members of the community with disabilities." 9.1 The following recommendation was tabled by the Corporate Administra-tion Committee at its meeting on September 22, 2004: Request for Funding from the Legislative Contingency (No Copy) That the request for funding from the Legislative Contingency from Councillors C. Collins and S. Merulla for the purpose of an information mail-out to the residents of Wards 4 and 5 with respect to the Rosedale Water Advisory, be tabled pending further investigation by the City Manager in terms of the criteria by which funds from the contingency can be accessed.
